"The deposition of a Law proposal by the political party “SYRIZA – Unifying Social Front” and “DEMAR” (Democratic Left) to extend the (unfortunately) already existent Law “regarding the agreement of free cohabitation” transforms the human person into a utilitarian object and in fact makes it the subject of a legal transaction act among the so-called “same-sex couples”, simply because the European Court for Human Rights had sentenced our country to pay € 5000 to those who appeal because in our country the cohabitation of same-sex persons is not recognized institutionally. Meantime, the declared intention of the co-governing parties of “Nea Demokratia” and “PASOK” to also promote a related amendment to the so-called “anti-racist Law” now places in a most horrific manner in our country the institutionalization of human ontology and physiology, as well as the sanctioning of the psycho-pathological deviation of homosexuality.

The Church, as the place of transformed sinners and the infirmary for the passions of souls and bodies, does not castigate the unfortunate victims of the ogre of the dark pit –which victims She nurses with Her prayers and Her sacred Mysteries once they have repented– but instead, She castigates the multi-faceted tragedy of their heinous sin.  However, the exoneration of the crime of subversion of the human physiology and ontology by the Greek State through the institutional recognition of the most shameful passions of homosexuality today  – and pedophilia tomorrow, as it has already occurred in “progressive” Holland, or even bestiality the day after, as apparent within the flagship of the European Union, Germany – constitutes an inexcusable and monstrous felony that weighs against God and the human person; a felony that is fully equivalent to the hubris committed by Sodom and Gomorrah.

Albeit seemingly unrealistic, the above are terrible realities; ones that prove the “democratic” function of the pedophile political party of Holland PNVD, which, upon the decision of the local Court of Hague, was officially recognized by the Dutch Government, and of course acknowledged as “legitimate and within the constitutional arch” the basic targets of the party in question, which are the following: “Legalization of sexual contact between adults and minors over 12 years of age; Legalization of the possession of material containing child pornography for personal use;  Abolition of all legislation that prohibits sexual contact between people and animals”, as well as the recent discussion in the German parliament (Bundestag) where a proposed law was submitted to prohibit bestiality and change the currently valid legislative framework which allows it, while confronting Michael Kiok of the Zoophile Organization ZETA, a supporter of the rights of bestialists which –according to him– number 100.000 German citizens.

It is important to note that in an article published in the Swiss newspaper LeMatin, the representative of the Berlin branch of the BMT federation against the rape of animals, Ms. Claudia Lotz, remarked how unbelievable and brutal it is, that in all the species of animals there are victims of rape by people, and that in the Bremen sanctuary “Noah’s Ark” many maltreated animals have been given shelter and care.

In his Second Epistle, the Apostle Peter says: “And by turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorra into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; […] But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.” (2 Pet.2:6 and 10)

As interpreted by Saint Nicodemus of the Holy Mountain:  “These cities, wherein they indulged in male-bedding, He incinerated with a deluge of fire and brimstone. If God had drowned crowds of people with fire, it follows that He will likewise condemn any impious ones who sin and disrespect similarly with the guilty Sodomites… for, far more rigorously than other guilty persons will be condemned those who do not resist lewdness and ugly acts, which one does not even mention in writing because they harm those who examine them, even in memory alone.”

And the 7th verse of the Epistle of Jude: “Even as Sodom and Gomorra, and the cities about them in like manner, by giving themselves over to fornication and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”

Fearsome and terrible… but who is aware of these things?  Beyond the matter of punishment, Saint Nicodemus also stresses the following:  “That the body of males is in every way dissimilar and foreign to natural and legal intercourse, and is not in any way useful for procreation.”

Indelible evidence of that calamity is the territory known as “the Dead Sea”.  A section of that sea used to be the place of those two cities. Today it is the border between Israel and Jordan.  It remains a teacher, reminding us that for it to be dead of any life within it, something formidable had taken place there, around 1800 b.C..

Even more formidable are the words of Paul: “And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly…” (Rom.1:27). Quite obviously, the Apostle Paul was aware of what was going on in Pompey also, with regard to this passion.

A few quotes only, from the blessed Chrysostom, who translates and comments on the words of Paul:  “All passions therefore are dishonorable, and more so, the mania towards men, where the gender revolts… for, having dishonored that which is according to nature, they hurried towards that which is against nature… They made sin their work, and in fact a hasty work… for, if there were no Gehenna, nor the threat of damnation, this was worse than any damnation.  These (the ‘male-bedders’) are even worse than male-killers (murderers)…and if they (male homosexuals) were aware of what was to be, they would rather undergo ten thousand deaths than have this happen to them (referring to passive homosexuals). For I not only say that you have become a woman, but also that you have lost being a man… you have become a traitor, having wronged the gender… For what can be more abhorrent than a debauched man? O, the mania! O, how even more foolish than the irrational we are, and more insolent than dogs! Where did these evils come from? From sensualism, from not facing God… They even shamed very nature itself…”

Even the world-renowned Freud - despite his familiar positions with regard to the sexual element in general between male and female and the liberty of the libido – is notably opposed to (if not outrightly hostile towards) homosexuality.  Among other things in his opus “Introduction to Psychoanalysis” he mentions:  “There are categories of human beings whose life deviates from the usual sexual life in the most striking manner. One group among those “perverted” ones has ostracized the difference between genders from their lives… To them, only their own gender arouses desire. These persons have resigned from all participation in reproduction. These people are called ‘homosexuals’…In this category belong all those who have resigned from the union of sexual organs or parts of the body…overcoming the anatomical difficulties and conquering the related aversion…Now, what should be our stance towards these unusual forms of gratification? Indignation and the expression of our personal revulsion?  What remains to be explained is the existence of perversions and relate them to normal sexuality…At any rate, we refer to them as perverted needs.”
Who would have expected this? And yet… what a catapult unleashed against this passion… (Sigmund Freud, INTRODUCTION TO PSYCHOANALYSIS, Govostis publications, Athens, pp.260-263, 270).

His Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in a statement that he made after Vespers in the Cathedral of Saint Simeon of Estonia on the 7/9/2013, had rigorously censured those who promote marriages between homosexuals and the contracts of “free cohabitation”, by stressing the following: “As for the modern inventions of so-called ’cohabitation agreements’, these are condemned, as they are the result of sin and not a rejoicing according to law.”

We Orthodox respect the private life of every person as their own, responsible, free choice.  We have no intention of intervening in a racist manner to obstruct rights and freedoms.  Our objection focuses on the fact that the horrendous sin of Homosexuality, of Sodomy, of ‘male-bedding’, of unnatural lewdness is being attempted – which extends into pederasty and pedophilia, striving to present itself as a natural condition – as a simple ‘otherness’.  The pan-human conscience throughout the ages however recognizes as a natural sexual behaviour the relations between man and woman, male and female. This is the human physiology and ontology.  Any other relations only subvert human ontology, as relations that are a contra-nature deviation, which is not observed even in animals.

In particular, the Holy Bible – which expresses the will of God, the Creator of man and the wise connoisseur of human nature – clearly condemns homosexuality as a vice, as ignominy and ugliness, which was punished severely by fire and brimstone in the cities of Sodom and Gomorra. As for the sum of the Holy Fathers - to them, homosexuality is the most abhorrent and foul sin of all.  The supporting and acquittal of homosexuality constitutes an immense irreverence towards God – the Creator of mankind as male and female – and a blasphemous abolition of the Gospel.

We therefore ask those audacious Parliamentarians and the Government:  Who are you – the representatives of modernism – who dare to place yourselves above God and abolish the Gospel and the teachings of the Holy Fathers?   Apart from offending public decency and our religious conscience, the public display of homosexuality sends messages to our youth of unnatural sexual behaviour, which is a torpedo at the foundations of the family and the society with a serious demographic problem, but also the cause for psycho-pathological disorders in children that are to be raised by homosexual couples as is aspired.

Do you believe that mankind’s “progress” is realized through the aforementioned actions?  You are overlooking the fact however, that:

Α. In the Book of Genesis (ch.19:1-5) which was authored in 2.369 b.C. the “progressiveness” of Sodom and Gomorra is narrated, with the following words: “Now the two angels came to Sodoma at evening, and Lot was sitting beside the gate of Sodoma. And when Lot saw them he rose to meet them and did obeisance with his face upon the ground and said, “Here, lords, turn aside to your servant’s house, and find lodging, and wash your feet, and when you have risen early you will depart on your way.” They, however, said, “No, but we will find lodging in the street.” And he kept constraining them, and they turned to him and entered into his dwelling. And he made them a feast and baked them unleavened loaves, and they ate before they lay down. And the men of the city, the Sodomites, from young man to elder, all the people together, encircled the dwelling, and they were summoning Lot and were saying to him, “Where are the men who came in to you tonight? Bring them out to us in order that we may have relations with them.”

Β. A tiny “detail” that has been saved by the Roman historian Cassius Dio (163 A.D.) is in his renowned Roman History (the veridicality of which detail was also testified by his contemporaries Tacitus and Suetonius), mentions that the mentally deranged emperor of Rome, Nero, had married twice, with two “liberti” class boys – the swarthy and masculine Pythagoras, and the slender and feminine Sporus whom he had castrated and renamed “Sabina”  (*)

C. The noble Paul in his Epistle 1 to Corinthians (ch.6:9-10) which was written in 54 A.D. assures us absolutely that: “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.?”

D. The universal hierarch, Basil the Great, in 370 A.D. with his canonical epistles and his 7th sacred canon which was validated by the 2nd canon of the 6th Ecumenical Synod, proclaimed that: “7. Sodomists and bestialists and murderers and sorcerers and adulterers and idolaters deserve the same condemnation, so that whatever rule you have as regarding the others observe it also in regard to these persons […]”

Following the aforementioned – out of the enormous volume of material referring to the monstrosities of the contra-nature subversion of human ontology and physiology – it becomes evident to all that the supposed relative progress and democratic sensitivity, the supposed human rights, the supposed ‘otherness’ and the supposed free self-determination and orientation regarding the sexual instinct and the identity of the gender are nothing more than the sinking into an abyss and the deep of human freedom and dignity, and the complete trivialization of the meaning of “anthropos” (human), which in the Greek language, “anthropos” consists of the union of the adverb “ano” (upward) and the verb “throsko” (looking, browsing).

Subsequently, as Bishop of the Church in this tragic hour, we publicly:

invite the Government to not proceed with the realization of this hubris against God and mankind;
issue an urgent request for an extra-ordinary convening of the Hierarchy of the Church of Greece to confront the matter and to impose that which is appropriate, according to the exceptional example of the Orthodox Church of Moldavia and
within our Canonical Jurisdiction and in the framework of our Canonical appositeness, we shall impose the penalty of excommunication on the Parliamentarians who would vote in favour of this disgraceful and shameful hubris.

 Athens, December 1, 2013 - Metropolitan Nicholas of Fthiotida, one of leading Hierarchs of the Church of Greece, has spoken about a new bill of the Greek government banning the reading of certain "offensive" stories from the Gospel, introducing responsibility for patriotism, and legalizing same-sex "marriages".

The Greek government in all probability is unhesitatingly continuing the preparation of the new "anti-racist" bill, which may soon became a federal law, reports AgionOros.ru with the reference to Romphea.

It will include consent to "free relationships", which will extend to same-sex unions, removal from the Holy Week services of passages potentially "offensive" to Jews, and declare inadmissible any demonstration by Greeks of "excessive" patriotism, lest they offend the sensibility of non-Greeks. One of leading Hierarchs of the Church of Greece, Metropolitan Nicholas of Fthiotida, commenting on the bill, is not concealing his indignation over far-reaching plans of its developers.

"Are we living in the time of Sodom and Gomorrah?" he says.

Regarding the consent to "free relationships", the Hierarch noted, "The introduction of bills opposed to the spirit of the Gospel, like the consent to "free relationships", is a perverted and at the same time immoral and anti-Christian action. All of us must draw a conclusion. Are we living in the time of Sodom and Gomorrah? It is necessary to protect our people from lawlessness, so that they may preserve the ideas of justice, freedom, independence, and love. You cannot, after all, level everything in the world".

"What kind of people are these who want to revise the Bible?"

His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas said regarding the possible censoring of the text of Holy Week services: "During Holy Week our priests in their churches will read the Gospel containing such words as: “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, you strain at a gnat but swallow a camel", as well as other passages about Judas, etc. Should they really be removed? What kind of people are they who want to revise the Gospel? We are not haters of any people; we respect the Jewish people and all other peoples. Besides, the Jewish nation is the forerunner of Christianity. Our Lord was of Jewish origin, and the Jewish people of the Old Testament believed in One, True God. Nobody treats Jews with such respect as do we, Christians. But should the Gospel, the words of the Lord Himself, be changed solely for this reason? And who are these latter-day "mediators", wishing to preach the new "Gospel" to us? For what reasons is all this happening—for political ones, so that other people’s feelings might not be offended? The Gospel cannot be changed, and it is the same for Church services. The Church can adapt its approaches, but its meaning remains unchanged. And it will be the same now. Let them prepare thousands of bills; will they really imprison all Bishops, Patriarchs, priests, and monks? This is absurd."

"Greece is a courageous country, it has its own heroes, it struggled, it has its own national holidays, its own flag, and parades. Must we really cancel everything so that migrants may not be insulted?"

Since the bill also touches upon "protection" of the sensibilitites of those who might be insulted by a demonstration of the Greek people’s "excessive" patriotism, the Metropolitan has called upon the government to approach the preparation of bills reasonably and with a sense of harmony, otherwise Greece may simply be destroyed: "I think a similar bill already existed in 1979. What kind of pressure is exerted on the government that it enacts such strange laws? But the people have their own criteria. How can such a law be passed if by following it Greeks have to be afraid to express their love for their motherland, simply because the feelings of other people—who had once enslaved Greece—will be ‘wounded’? I mean Turks. If we are afraid to cite the examples of our heroes because Muslim or Albanian children's feelings will be affected, then what will happen to our native country? We will destroy it! Bills like this one can, of course, protect someone... But don't these people know that Greece is a courageous country, it has its own heroes, it struggled, it has its own national holidays, its own flag, parades, as every country does? So must we really cancel everything so that migrants might not be insulted?"
